Interpreting Photos with Watercolor
Learn how to translate a photograph into a compelling watercolor painting in this six-session art class focused on interpretation, not just imitation. Students will explore how to decide which details to play up for impact, which elements to simplify or soften, and what to leave out altogether to create a strong, expressive composition. Through guided exercises and demonstrations, you’ll learn to identify focal points, manage values and color, and use selective detail to lead the viewer’s eye. The course emphasizes developing personal style while gaining practical tools for editing visual information, helping you turn any photo reference into a balanced, atmospheric, and painterly watercolor.
Class will be held 6 Thursdays from March 19th - April 23rd
4 - 6:30 PM
The course fee is $60.
